Leading organizations inspect research and implementation sites

On Monday, October 24th and Tuesday, October 25th, we invited the Vice Governor of Kumamoto Prefecture, which is the organizing body of the Regional Co-Creation Center, the President of Higo Bank, and the Chairman of TV Kumamoto Co., Ltd., a participating organization, to inspect the research and implementation site.

This visit also served as a pre-tour for the "Green Watershed Flood Control Study Tour" being developed as part of R&D Theme 4.

A total of 39 people participated in the inspection, including participants from the aforementioned organizations, the Regional Economic Research Institute, Prefectural University of Kumamoto, and other organizations, as well as operation staff.

The participants visited six research and implementation sites over a two-day, one-night trip. The tour course and schedule are as follows:

Here is a look at the inspection.

A tour of the Village IoT project. Participants listen to an explanation about the cameras installed in homes in the Kannose area of Kuma Village to monitor rivers and roads.

A tour of a forest management research site. Here, stemflow research is being carried out in collaboration with Nanryo High School.

At the site visit, we prepared videos and textbooks summarizing the concept of green watershed flood control and the technologies based on it, and we watched them while visiting the site. We plan to use these videos and textbooks during the study tour as well.

After the tour, a review session was held over lunch, during which participants were also asked to fill out a survey about the tour. The results will be used to improve future study tours.
