We have signed a cooperation agreement with Suginami Ward, Tokyo regarding river basin flood control!

The Regional Co-Creation Center for "A Sustainable Society Originating from Reconstruction Centered on River Basin Flood Control," which is led by Kumamoto Prefectural University, has been conducting research and development in collaboration with industry, government, and academia, mainly in Kumamoto Prefecture, with the vision of "realizing sustainable communities centered on river basin flood control, where people can continue to live safely and securely even after a major disaster, with a rich environment and young people remaining and gathering,."

Recently, a collaboration agreement has been concluded with Suginami Ward in Tokyo, which is beginning to consider watershed flood control initiatives that utilize green infrastructure (hereinafter referred to as "GI")*. This agreement will enable the research results of this research center, such as rain gardens, to be rolled out horizontally, and the efforts in Kumamoto will be expanded to Tokyo as well.
