On September 12, 2022, two new river cameras were installed at Oiwa Oil in the Kanose area.
This brings the number of cameras installed in the #Kounose area to eight.
Prototype of a system for viewing images from a website
This time, two cameras will be installed at Oiwa Oil for the purpose of checking the water level of the Kuma River more closely and the condition of roads that are prone to flooding.
Furthermore, as a new initiative, a system has been developed in which the cameras installed at Oiwa Oil are connected to a microcomputer called a "Raspberry Pi" and images are displayed on a website once every 15 minutes.
This way, even if you don't have the app on your phone, you can see images of the river just by accessing the website.
I visited the installation site together with two students from Kumamoto Prefectural University and researcher Yoshida from Kyushu Sangyo University.
